Merchant Settlement Terms
Version BMH-MST-2026.10.13.1 · Effective 13 October 2026
These terms govern the collection and settlement of customer deposits that a merchant accepts through Book My Hands. They apply alongside the Terms of Service. By connecting a settlement bank account, the merchant accepts this version of the terms.
Settlement arrangement
Deposit payments are processed by Paystack on behalf of the platform. When a merchant connects a settlement account, Book My Hands creates a Paystack subaccount for that merchant under the platform's Paystack integration. The merchant never provides Paystack credentials to Book My Hands, and Book My Hands does not hold a withdrawable balance for the merchant.
Each deposit is split at the time of payment: Paystack settles the merchant's share directly to the connected Ghanaian bank account. The settlement schedule is set by Paystack for the platform account.
Platform fee and processing costs
Book My Hands retains a platform fee of 5% of each deposit amount, deducted at the time of payment. The merchant bears Paystack's processing fees on each transaction. The exact split applied to a payment is recorded with that payment at the time it is taken.
Refunds, disputes, and reversals
The merchant bears the full provider deduction resulting from a full or partial refund, chargeback, dispute, or reversal of a deposit. The platform fee is not automatically reversed when a payment is refunded.
Where an amount remains due to the platform, Book My Hands may suspend new deposit collection for the merchant until the amount is recovered. Refunds are performed by a platform operator in the Paystack Dashboard with a linked support and audit record.
Bank details and privacy
To connect a settlement account, the merchant provides a supported Ghanaian bank and account number. The account number is verified with Paystack and is not stored or logged by Book My Hands. Only the bank name, verified account name, and last four digits are retained.
A newly connected account may require verification by a platform operator in the Paystack Dashboard before deposits can be collected. The merchant can check the connection status in Settings at any time.
Acceptance and changes
Connecting a settlement account, or re-confirming an existing one, records the accepting user, the timestamp, and this version of the terms. If a new version is published, the merchant must accept it before deposit collection continues; a previous acceptance does not carry over.
Notices and disputes
Send settlement notices in writing to [email protected], identifying the account and payment reference. These terms are governed by Ghana law, and the Ghana courts have jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
